I cant remember if we had this discussion before. Do you believe that there is a person out there who is "born" for each of us? A one true love, one true soul mate that we are supposed to be with? Or is it just a nice notion drawn up by western society once marriage became and institution based on love, not money or land or an arrangement. Logically, I think not. But then when I think back on my own love life, and the men that I have loved. I have been in love about 4 times in my life. The first 3 I think I got over rather quickly, within a month or two's time I was over them, no longer in love, no longer had feelings. I moved on completely. Even my ex husband, I loved him to death, yet I got over him pretty quickly. We are still friends and still in touch, but it has been over 2 years since I have ever had any romantic feelings for him. I can be around him and that old spark/feelings does not return, not even for a second. Yet with Cedric, I tried to get over this guy so many times. We both have tried to stay away from each other, but we never can stay out of each others lives it seems. And that seems to go both ways. Also, he was the only man that I ever loved that I would say I fell in love at first sight with. And no matter how devastating our relationship was to me, why now still a few months later cant I not stop thinking about him? Not stop having feelings for him? If there was ever any one ex I should have had no problems getting over easily, it should be him. Logically, it should be. But that has never been the case with him. So could it be that even though we have had so many obstacles that we havent thus far been able to overcome, that we are "meant" to be? That we cant live without each other and we are not supposed to live without each other? Is there something more at force here, or is it for some reason just this one instance I am just stuck and hung up and not able to let go? |

so do you think that Jimmy is the one that you were destined to be with, that you were made for each other. Or did you find someone that you were compatible enough with but there could be many others out there whom you are just as compatible with that you COULD have ended up with, that could have been just as much of a possibility for you as Jimmy was? |

cant you give a thoughtful, intellectual response, Jesse! lol I mean, I have always liked the IDEA of being fated for someone, but I never really believed it, but lately I wonder. I mean either Cedric and I ended up meeting due to numerous accidents or happenstance circumstances, or we were fated to meet. Cause think about it, he is 10 years older than me, originally from south carolina and lived in a few other states besides. He moved to PA like 7 years ago, for no particular reason, like a job transfer or because of relatives, he has none in this state. He moves to the mountains, but after being here for a few years ends up switching from a job in NY to a job in philadelphia. 3 months after he starts working there, I leave my job and get a job doing the same position at the same agency. Our boss ends up pairing the two of us in an office together. And I instantly had feelings for him the moment I saw him, and it was more than just an initial attraction. I had instant strong feelings for him even though I was already in love and married to another man. So did all of that happen by accident, or are we meant for each other? I mean when I met my ex husband, he came from another country and the chance of me meeting him was remote too. But I knew him and was friends with him for 3 years before I even started feeling the slightest bit of attraction to him. And once I did start becoming attracted to him, it wasn't a really overpowering experience, it took a long time for that to develop from a slight attraction to being in love with him. |

i believe in the soul mate principle, that everyone out there has someone for them. of course not everyone meets theres every single life time though if mine is around in this life they'd have to be pretty persistant to get through to me, I'm super thick |

i believe I have found my match. there is possible (more so then I state) matches for me. If my Rich dies today, does that mean Im without a soulmate? No. I think there is multilple options. Kinda like a "Choose Your Own Adventure Book". I Just have yet to find them. I think its a life process. Though I love my guy more then anything. My life will have to go on without him. Its just a fact of life. Same with him, if I die. Im sure he will find a substitute. Maybe not as cool and fun as me, but he will continue. |

yeah I mean if your mate dies, most people do move on and find others. But if your first one, the one who died was your true soulmate, then the next person is just "runner up" not the person that you are destined to be with, but a person that you can like and love enough to share the rest of your time with. That is if there is only one true person for you. Or if there are multiple true soul mates for you, then the next person could be just as much your soul mate as the first one. |

so alondria you do believe in THE ONE. But you believe that since we have multiple lives, we may not meet that person or be fated for that person in this life but the time may come in another life to be with that person? |
